Purpose of Research Paper:

Effects of Web-Based Training on End User Attitude and End User Compliance with Computer Usage Policy

In developing any training I consider the most important factor to be considered is the cost involved in presenting it. Is the training worth the cost? The answer should be “yes” or training should not be undertaken. Sometimes training is required no matter what the cost. The second factor that should be considered in the presentation of training is the effectiveness of training. Just because the training is worth the cost does not mean that it can’t be improved. Evaluation of the training at all levels should be constantly scrutinized to insure effectiveness.

The research that is outlined in the following paper was designed to evaluate the effectiveness of training suggested for state employees working for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. I accepted a position in Information Technology (IT) as a Network Analyst bringing 40 years of computer experience to the Cabinet. I am convinced that training in standard office applications is sorely needed by many CHFS employees. I believe that this training can be economically delivered and would benefit the state. The research that I outline would provide a valid measurement to insure that the training that I suggest is effective.
